As a documentary filmmaker, I am passionate about uncovering compelling stories and sharing fresh perspectives with my clients.

Oak Bay Rec Centre is a unique community full of caring, fun people. After speaking with 11 individuals, I selected five long-time members to feature, including two staff members and three patrons. I wish we could have featured everyone I spoke to, but there wasn’t time!

Seven people contributed to the story, including five patrons who shared their experiences.

Preparing for this project involved visiting the Rec Centre, outlining goals, interviewing patrons, writing story notes, developing questions, storyboarding, scheduling, and filming for 3 days.

Post-production lasted a month and involved story and video editing, colour correction, and sound work. From planning to delivery, the entire project was completed in two months.
